Assuming the role of the great man towards the end of his life, he looks back on the highs and lows, his passions, disappointments, financial struggles, self-doubt, ill-health, legendary irascibility and all-consuming deafness – how all these things succumb to the magnificence of the music which will be played with utmost authenticity as a live stream. This is an outstanding showcase for the best of the current young British based jazz musicians, one of whom will be awarded the Musicians’ Company Young Jazz Musician Award, in memory of the acclaimed first winner of the competition, Tina May and chosen by the voting audience present at the gig. The Winner receives the Company’s coveted medal, £1,000 prize and the opportunity for the band of his/her choice to perform as part of the Company’s jazz programme. From over 50 nominations, from many of the UK’s leading jazz musicians, the Company’s Jazz Committee selected six of the most outstanding young artists.TICKETS ONLINE

Judy Garland's films A Star Is Born & The Wizard of Oz and the song Somewhere Over The Rainbow are a great source of inspiration. Judy's daughter Liza Minnelli, a great actress, singer and dancer, created her own anthems including New York, New York and Maybe This Time plus her Oscar-winning triumph in Cabaret.
